Is there a way of looking at fees before one makes a transaction?

I saw a post somewhere about how the transaction cost for bitcoin was $50 at one point. Now I know this is rare, and I know it’s due to the demand of people wanting to make transactions and so the price goes up as a result, but I want to know if I can be aware of it before I get stung by it.
I buy bitcoins through bittylicious and then if I’m to convert to an alt coin I’ll buy through bittylicious then convert them in binance. I’m UK based if that gives any more helpful information.
I’d just like to be aware of the transaction costs before hand as avoiding such a thing is why I’m trying to steer clear from fiat currencies and banks in general.

Buying Bitcoin with GBP anonymously and storing it on a wallet.

Hello all! Sorry if this is something asked a lot but I had a few specific questions about the process of Bitcoin buying.
From what I understand there are different wallets, hardware wallets, digital ones that allow you to store your BTC and trade bitcoin between each other which can all be done anonymously. It seems most people recommend a Ledger or a Trezor hardware wallet for storage of your bitcoin. However to actually buy Bitcoin in the first place you have to go to a bitcoin exchange (?).
As someone based in the UK i've found online exchanges like Binance, Bittylicious, CoinCorner, Coinfloor I know also Coinbase is very popular for US (or international).
I was drawn to crypto/BTC like probably many of you because it's privacy aspect and something that is a store of value in order to preserve wealth. However every single exchange requires at least Name, Date of Birth, Address/Postcode and that's only to access "lite" features, they also want a Photo ID (driving licence or passport) to let you access their full trading capabilities.
Now I'm not exactly Edward Snowden, and i've already given my address and DOB to a couple websites already when trying to buy BTC (and I know they (the government at least) have the details on a database anyway in order for private companies to verify them. I would also prefer not to give photo ID but if there was literally no other way then I may end up doing it. (And yes I would end up buying by debit card anyway which has my details on)
My main point here is, is this normal for Bitcoin traders? Does everyone go to an exchange where they have all your details eg Binance, convert your fiat money to BTC. Then transfer that BTC from the (Binance) exchange to your personal wallet (trezor) outside of the exchange? Is there not a way you can put BTC in your wallet by direct bank deposit of GBP (or fiat?).
How do you purchase BTC? Thanks in advance!

List of bitcoin person-to-person (P2P) bitcoin exchanges (e.g., Bisq, HodlHodl, LocalCoinSwap, etc.)

Following is a list of P2P exchanges for trading Bitcoin. Common payment methods include bank transfer, cash deposited in the seller's bank account, in-person cash (face-to-face) trades as well as payment networks such as Zelle, Alipay, even Cash App and PayPal, for example.
Any that I am missing?
Altcoin-only P2P Trading exchanges
AggregatoSearch and Helper Sites
Note: If you use one of the above P2P OTC trade "matchmaking" services, please trade with caution and do your own due diligence.
This list does not include exchanges not in English (e.g., 58Coin), deserted or defunct marketplaces (e.g., Cancoin, and Rahakott), not-yet launched (e.g., OTCBoss), ones that operate only through dark markets, or online-only DEX/decentralized exchanges (another list of DEXes).
Also, there are a number of variants that I didn't list:
Otherwise, there are a number of other exchanges — with varying attributes. We recommended trying to stick with No-KYC exchanges, including most of the ones listed on:
Additions, corrections, and other feedback welcome and can be submitted as an issue or pull request on GitHub, or via e-mail.

How to purchase holochain [tutorial].

How to purchase holochain [tutorial].
I had a couple of people ask me how you would buy HoloChain from in the UK so I thought that I would do a tutorial.

Firstly, you need to create an account on binance. Once on the website, press register in the top-right hand corner and then create your account.
Currently, you cannot purchase HOT via fiat on any exchange. You will need to purchase either BTC or ETH first, there are many ways to do this - I personally use an exchange called bittylicious.com but coinbase.com is also a viable option for uk residents. If you want to use cash, you can use a Bitcoin ATM. The best exchange rates can normally be found on localbitcoins.com , but this carries some risks.
___________________________________
Next, go back onto binance.com and go to funds- deposits on the top bar.

The page should look like this
Where it says select coin/token to deposit, select BTC (bitcoin)

Make sure to note down your deposit address
Now onto the exchange, I use bittylicious.com for the tutorial
Add in your address to send it to and choose the amount of BTC you want to purchase. Remember to always do proper research about an exchange before use so that you do not get scammed.

https://preview.redd.it/cusb659hrbg21.png?width=682&format=png&auto=webp&s=80e44cb6cd0baf1a12e5704fb90684bf6f589afc
After your transaction has been confirmed, you can then go back onto the binance deposits page and check that you have the funds.
Next, find the HOT/BTC pair on the binance.com home screen and click on it
https://preview.redd.it/315ajpl0sbg21.png?width=1901&format=png&auto=webp&s=e27596448dec4885a9c6ea6795c169542e546296
On the trading screen, create a limit order at the current price with the amount set to the maximum you can buy (if you do not want to use up all of your BTC, put in whatever amount you want) and then press the green 'Buy HOT' button.

https://preview.redd.it/rwt9hdyksbg21.png?width=1305&format=png&auto=webp&s=21b3104aaaf98b49ad6b38f1772d44702a18b037
Now, you have to wait for your order to be fulfilled, go to 'Orders - Open Orders' on the top bar and wait until the status changes.
After this is complete, you have bought yout HOT! However, it is not a good idea to keep your coins on an exchange as you want to keep hold of the private keys to your wallet.
There are many different wallets that you can use. If you have a reasonably large amount (e.g. £200+), it is a good idea to get a hardware wallet. Always DYOR (Do your own research) & get your wallets from the official provider). Never comprimise the security of your coins for the sake of saving a bit of money. If you have the extra money to spend, a Ledger Nano S or Trezor is completely worth it.
______________________________________________
For this turorial, I am using MEW (My Ether Wallet) online & MEWConnect.
Go to myetherwallet.com and then press 'create a new wallet', follow there instructions to do so.
Next, get your ethereum address from your interface
https://preview.redd.it/izeupf7lvbg21.png?width=1894&format=png&auto=webp&s=d7f879f773340bbedcb670e0759c5c11802102c3
After this, go back to binance.com and then to funds --- withdrawals, choose HOT and then add in your ethereum address and press withdraw.

https://preview.redd.it/fsypsqc1xbg21.png?width=630&format=png&auto=webp&s=126e22759401e210bb4dc509ebe8477e6dd28944
After this, you will have your HOT in MyEtherWallet.
It took me a long time to make this tutorial, so I would appreciate if you used my referral Id 36342839 or the link https://www.binance.com/?ref=36342839 whilst signing up.

Bitcoin Cash: A Reflection on How Far We’ve Come

On August 1, Bitcoin resumed its original roadmap, scaling on-chain towards global adoption as Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash.
It’s been just 3 and a half months since Bitcoin Cash broke away from BTC in order avoid a software mutation called Segwit, and to restore progress and growth to the ecosystem.
After a recent price rally that saw us reach 0.5 BTC ($3000), the reality is setting in that an overnight ‘flippening’ scenario that some people hoped for is unlikely, and that we have a longer road ahead.
It’s really important to remember how much has been achieved in such a short time.
Let’s take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come as a young community.
July:
August:
September:
October:
November:
This rate and scale of industry adoption is unprecedented.
With every BTC holder receiving an equal amount of Bitcoin Cash, and with the price over $1300, the rate and scale of user adoption is unprecedented.
With fast, reliable transactions and fees that are less than 1 cent, and with both BitPay & Coinbase hinting at a full Bitcoin Cash integration, the rate and scale of merchant adoption will be unprecedented.
With unprecedented industry, user and merchant adoption, it’s only a matter of time until Bitcoin Cash becomes the default medium of exchange and store of value cryptocurrency.
The old Bitcoin is back. You can feel it. It’s the resurgence of a grassroots movement not seen for years. People are putting Bitcoin Cash posters in the streets, handing out leaflets, tipping strangers a few dollars online, and asking in forums how they can contribute to the community.
Just in the last couple of days a ‘Bitcoin Cash Fund’ was established, to assist with marketing and projects. The initial goal was $200 to make a short animated advert, but over $17,000 has been donated already. All of this positivity and energy is inspiring.
While businesses are being forced to abandon BTC due to exorbitant and skyrocketing fees (upwards of $10), they’re being cheered on every day as they embrace Bitcoin Cash.
The original vision is still alive. As an early bitcoiner, I’ve never been more optimistic.
Make sure you involve yourself in the community, we’re just getting started :)

UK Ripple buyers, here's how to buy Ripple quickly

My fellow Brits, it's been a royal pain trying to buy some XRP, Binance doesn't work, everywhere else seems to take weeks if not months to verify with.
I've just bought Bitcoin using Bittylicious sent that to Changelly who swapped it for XRP and delivered it directly to my XRP wallet.
Quick verification with both Bittylicious and Changelly, might be a good avenue until some of these larger exchanges get their act together. (Note that fees are likely to be a bit higher using this method)

Buying ripple in UK

Hello, I want to buy ripple in the UK and after doing some research I think I have a plan: buying ether or Bitcoin on bittylicious and then swapping it into ripple via binance. Is there anyone that has experience using this approach and would be happy to share their opinion / experience? I'm also happy for any other ideas / suggestions. I don't want to use coinbase because of the delays in verifying accounts. Thank you!
